Just because somé of his sóngs might be abóut drugs, it doésnt mean that éveryone of them aré. I think its about choosing the right paths in life and how hard it is to find someone you can trust and who will love you back, but no matter witch obstacles you might run in to and no matter where you go you have to spread your love. Or, it can be about self discovery, where you have to just let it grow. It is one of the simplest and best examples from a time in history when a generation was bold enough to cast off old traditions and build a new belief system that valued authenticity over things that mattered less. While there aré many vaIid criticisms of thé counterculture óf this éra, this song makés me lament thé loss of thé idealism and beIief that authentic intéraction really can changé the world.
